Project AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resilience in Education) grants promote youth mental health awareness among schools and communities and improve connections to services for school-age youth. Chadron Public Schools was one of three Nebraska schools recently awarded the Project AWARE grant.

Mrs. Dana Tewahade will serve students Pre-K through 12th grade. She is a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner.  In addition to counseling, Mrs. Tewahade will provide training and education in mental health awareness for school staff, students, parents and community members.

“I am thrilled to be able to promote awareness, provide direct counseling services and get our students connected with our community resources to support their mental well-being ” commented Tewahade.  “It is an exciting opportunity to help strengthen our schools and community through education and destigmatization.”
